An IAS officer is making news this time. Pranabjyoti Nath, who presently serves as the secretary of Kerala’s Sports and Youth Affairs Department, has been named Kerala’s new chief electoral officer (CEO) by the Election Commission of India (ECI). Pranabjyoti Nath, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) official from the 2005 batch, was the Kollam District Collector before that. Let’s know more about his achievements and career.
Pranabjyoti Nath was appointed as NALCO’s Chief Vigilance Officer by an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on the same day. Sources claim that this order was issued shortly after the Kerala government uploaded its order. According to the DoPT decision, Nath’s appointment as CVO of NALCO in Bhubaneswar was authorised by the Cabinet’s Appointments Committee for a period of three years.
Pranabjyoti Nath: Career Journey
Pranabjyoti Nath is an IAS officer, 2005 batch. He has previously served in the Kerala government as the secretary of sports and youth services. According to the CEO office, Nath has assumed his responsibilities and intends to address the issue with the federal government. His central deputation was already approved, according to officials. He will probably join NALCO as CVO following the elections, though, given the by-elections.
Pranabjyoti Nath, a JNU IAS officer with a Master’s degree and government school education, placed 85th in the UPSC 2005. He is an Assamese native from Guwahati. He finished middle school at Rupnagar ME School after completing his elementary education at Rupnagar Lower Primary School in Guwahati. He then passed the class 10 test at Guwahati, Assam’s Ulubari Higher Secondary School. Later, Pranabjyoti Nath attended Cotton College in Guwahati to study arts in class 12. His LinkedIn page states that he graduated with a BSc from Cotton College. Following this, he graduated from Jawaharlal Nehru University with a postgraduate degree in sociology.
IAS Nath, who completed his postgraduate studies at JNU, passed the UGC NET exam. He then became an IAS after passing the UPSC exam. Following training, he was assigned to Thiruvalla, Pathanamthitta, Kerala, as a Sub Collector and Sub Divisional Magistrate. He subsequently served in the same capacity in Devikulam, Idukki District.
At the same location where he received his initial posting, Pranabjyoti Nath went on to become the District Collector and District Magistrate. He subsequently held the same position in Kollam. IAS Nath has since held numerous significant positions.
