Purpose
The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium provides
direct technical assistance for rural communities in
Alaska to help improve sustainability and lower operating
costs of rural sanitation systems and healthcare
facilities.
Assistance may include, but is not limited to:
- Providing operator training to reduce energy usage
and improve operations - Conducting energy audits of facilities to analyze and
identify energy use and determine potential improvements
projects for maximum energy savings - Implementing energy efficiency upgrades to realize
savings, such as boiler maintenance and tuning, LED
lighting and building weatherization - Designing and constructing renewable energy projects
that reduce dependence on imported diesel fuel for
heating and electricity - Monitoring results and effectiveness by utilizing
innovative remote monitoring technology
Eligibility
Eligible applicants are tribes, Alaska Native Villages,
and regional Alaska Native Corporations, intertribal
organizations, and tribal energy development
organizations in rural areas of Alaska.
