Purpose
The California Wellness Foundation supports nonprofit
organizations in California working in the areas of:
- Equity in access – Projects to increase healthcare
coverage and access for all, regardless of immigration
status. Supports access to sexual and reproductive health
services for women, with particular focus on women of color - Community well-being – Projects working to foster
healthy environments, violence prevention, and resilience
in communities of color - Economic security and dignity – Advancing the
economic well-being of low-income communities and
communities of color through job creation, education,
training, and access to safety net supports - Leading for power and change – Working toward
systemic and progressive change to improve community
outcomes, racial equity, and health by supporting
nonprofit organizations and community leadership
Grantmaking focuses on the health needs of traditionally
underserved populations, including low-income
individuals, people of color, youth, immigrants, and
residents of rural areas.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants are nonprofit public agencies,
religious organizations, and tribal governments.
Applicants must have Section 501(c)(3) status and be
classified as a public charity.
