Purpose
The American Heart Association is offering a
certification program for healthcare professionals
interested in demonstrating a commitment to telehealth.
The certification is designed to standardize training for
healthcare providers in telehealth care delivery,
increase skills and competencies in telehealth care
delivery, and help to improve patient outcomes through
the integration of telehealth.
The program includes:
- Evidence-based online telehealth education that
combines research, hands-on experiences, and best
practices - Assessment through live remote proctoring
- A certificate award
Eligibility
Eligible participants are licensed medical professionals
or students studying to become licensed.
Professionals must first complete 5.25 credit hours of
continuing education specific to telehealth within the
last 12 months. Upon completion and attestation to
meeting the education requirements, professionals will be
eligible to sit for the certification exam.
