Purpose
The State Offices of Rural Health Coordination and
Development Program (SORHCDP) awards funding for one
organization to provide leadership development and
technical assistance opportunities to State Offices of
Rural Health and their partners, with the goal of
coordinating rural health services and improving
healthcare in rural areas.
The grantee must focus on:
- Providing leadership development at national,
regional, state, and local levels to increase the impact
of SORH - Facilitating partnerships and collaboration at the
national, regional, state, and local levels to improve
the exchange of information and best practices that
support rural health - Assisting in the coordination of rural healthcare
through education on policy and emerging health issues - Providing capacity development for SORH core
functions to improve SORH efficiency
Eligibility
Eligible applicants include:
- Nonprofits with or without 501(c)(3) IRS status
- For-profit organizations, including small businesses
- State, county, city, township, and special district
governments, including the District of Columbia, domestic
territories, and the Freely Associated States - Native American tribal governments
- Native American tribal organizations
